The first little root from the seed came after 3 days. We were very happy about this because I did not expected such fast germination process.
After few days the heating season was over because we had temperatures above +8 C outside. The place near by radiator became uncomfortable for our seeds. we had to think about new placed to store our little friends.
The way out of this situation was only one - electrical heating device. At the moment we do not want to spent lots of money of heating devices so we had to scratch our heads. We were thinking about purchasing a heating mat but we checked the price online and it was so high - about 30-50 Euros for just a little one.
The solution was aquarium water heating and simple plastic box. We placed water heating device inside the box, fulfilled it with water and placed all the seed bags on it. To make sure that our seeds will have enough heat we covered them with Coca Cola towel :)
Every day we opened bags to check the situation of seeds. All the results are displayed in the chart down below:
The results are pretty good. We see really great germination results after we placed seeds on heating device that keeps the temperature constant. Near by the radiators we had really big temperature difference because the heating system was launched once a day.
The best results are seen in the test No 4. where seeds were first placed in water and salt mixture for 24 hours. As well really good germination rate could be seen in the test No 2. I think this is due to time spent in water before putting them on the wool and plastic bag.
